FAQsWhat is Bright Smiles?Bright Smiles is an innovative new national pilot program that will tackle the dental health problems of children in need. It has two key goals:
The program will do this by promoting 4 steps to a lifelong smile - brushing, flossing, rinsing and regular dental check ups. Colgate will work with the help of private dental practitioners and Bright Smiles supporters to address the dental health of children whose families have limited access to care. The program is part of Colgate’s Oral Health Month August 2008. I’m a dentist - how do I get involved? The success of the program relies on dentists signing up to give a child a smile, so we need your support. The level of commitment is entirely up to you. Please click here for more information and to register. If you require further information please email info@brightsmiles.net.au or call 02 9818 0915. How do I get my child into the program?Once a dentist volunteers their time for the program, ‘Bright Smiles’ will liaise with a charity in the dentist’s local area, seeking their help to identify a child in need of treatment. The program does not accept nominations directly from the public. However, Woman's Day is running a special ‘Bright Smiles’ initiative where members of the public can nominate a child who is already on the public waiting list. 5 children from this list will be chosen for treatment by voluntary dentists. For more details, visit the Woman's Day website. How can I find out more information?Dentists who require more information should fill out our online form, and they will be contacted by the program coordinator. For further information email info@brightsmiles.net.au or call 02 9818 0915. Journalists with media enquiries should call Kerin Vandeleur on 02 9818 0984 or e-mail info@brightsmiles.net.au PLEASE NOTE: As this is a pilot program aimed at recruiting dentists to help children in need, we are not in a position at this time to respond to questions directly from the public. |
